About LIORA

London International Orthopaedic Appeal was set up in East London in 2024 to improve the quality of orthopaedic healthcare in London, the UK and internationally.   

We have partnered with local orthopaedic communities internationally to work on a number of healthcare projects. LIORA sends experienced orthopaedic surgeons to such projects, where their teaching and expertise can be of benefit. 

In London we support the excellent work that the Royal London Hospital Orthopaedic Trauma team offers to our community and provide extra help beyond the NHS funding 

We have developed partnerships in both Africa and South America where LIORA Charity has collaborated with local hospitals and delivered multiple training courses in some of the poorest communities around the world.    

We are proud to be playing our part to build a better future by aligning our work with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).   

By providing training and supporting academic research (Goal 4) we will boost healthcare capacity in communities advancing the skills and knowledge of its professionals (Goal 3). In doing this, health professionals will save lives, improve population’s health and support families and communities along the way.
